Chi Cambridge brunch

A Fresh Spin on Brunch in the City

We had the pleasure of being invited by Chi Cambridge to try their brand-new brunch, and what a treat it turned out to be! Nestled in the heart of the city right next to the River Cam, Chi is already a go-to for vibrant Asian street food in a modern, stylish space. Their new brunch lineup brings something entirely new and exciting to Cambridge’s food scene. We captured the full experience here, but get ready to feel hungry!

Where Atmosphere Ignites Appetite

From the moment we stepped inside Chi Cambridge, the atmosphere struck the perfect balance between laid-back and lively. The team greeted us with genuine warmth. Modern, vibrant, and alive with the mouth-watering aroma of sizzling spices. On the brunch menu, Chi reimagines everyday favourites with bold Pan-Asian flair, but here’s the fun brunch twist! Chi also offers a bottomless brunch upgrade, that includes unlimited Prosecco, Asahi beer or Sangria for £35 per person.

It’s this mix of creative dishes and bottomless drinks option that makes brunch at Chi feel like more than just a meal, it’s an experience. Whether you’re craving savoury plates like Korean fried chicken on brioche or something sweet like fluffy pancakes loaded with fruit and meringue, there’s plenty to keep your taste buds excited. With the lively buzz of the restaurant and the tempting flow of drinks, it’s the perfect spot for a weekend catch-up, a celebration, or simply treating yourself to something different.

Raising a Glass

We kicked off our brunch at Chi with a couple of cocktails that set the mood beautifully. The Lychee Martini was light and fragrant, with a sweet floral note that made it incredibly easy to sip. In contrast, the Dark and Stormy brought a bolder kick, blending the warmth of dark rum with spicy ginger beer and a zesty lime finish, the perfect balance of sweet, sharp, and a little bit fiery.

But Chi’s drinks menu goes well beyond cocktails. For something a bit different, there’s the Akashi-Tai Ginjo Yuzushu, a sweet sake infused with the bright, zesty flavour of Japanese yuzu, a refreshing option if you’re in the mood to try something new. And for those who prefer the classics, Chi Cambridge also offers crisp Asahi beer or a selection of soft drinks.

Bursting Flavours in Every Bite

Once our drinks were flowing, we moved on to the food, and it didn’t disappoint! We tucked into the Breakfast Bao, packed with sausage, a perfectly fried egg, American cheese, and a crispy hash brown, all wrapped in a fluffy steamed bun that made for the ultimate comfort bite. The Chi Benny was another standout, layering juicy crispy pork belly onto soft coca bread, topped with poached eggs and a spicy, creamy gochujang hollandaise, finished with crispy chilli and fresh chives; it was a delicious twist on a brunch classic. For something sweet, we shared the Fluffy Pancakes. They were stacked high and served with whipped cream, mango, strawberries, meringue pieces, and a generous drizzle of maple syrup. And then there was the Chicken & Brioche! Korean fried chicken paired with streaky bacon, crispy chilli, maple syrup, poached eggs, and spring onions, all piled onto soft brioche. It was a plate bursting with bold flavours and textures.

Out of everything we tried, the Chicken & Brioche stole the show for us. The combination of the crunchy, spicy Korean fried chicken and the smoky bacon, balanced by the sweetness of maple syrup and the runny yolk of the poached eggs, was pure brunch perfection. Every bite was sweet, savoury, spicy, and utterly addictive. It’s the dish we’d come back for in a heartbeat, and we probably will!

The Ultimate Brunch Verdict

Chi’s brunch is unlike any other in Cambridge. Instead of sticking to typical brunch classics, they’ve taken familiar favourites and reinvented them with bold Asian twists. It’s creative, playful, and perfect for anyone who loves discovering new flavours.

Our experience was packed with delicious surprises, generous portions, and drinks that matched the food’s vibrant energy. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, making Chi a brilliant choice for catching up with friends, celebrating something special, or simply treating yourself to a brunch that’s anything but ordinary.

We’re so grateful to the team at Chi Cambridge for inviting us to try the new menu. We’ll definitely be back. Let us know if you give it a try, we’d love to hear your favourites!
