Cambridge Punting Prices
We are a small, independent Punting Company, specialising in Private and Shared Chauffeured River Tours of Cambridge.
We want our services to be affordable to all and have therefore developed a dynamic pricing model meaning we are able to offer the very best rates for early or late departures. You can view our low, medium & peak times below with an indication of seasonal price bands.
Overall our rates are at their lowest for departures before 11 am and on weekdays. We also charge lower rates in the winter due to reduced demand.
As an example for a private tour for up to 12 people, you can expect to pay £179-£239 at the weekend and £145-£209 during the week in high season (April to September). Out of season, you can expect to pay a little less, particularly during the week when the river is at its quietest. Our large ferry punts are used for all tours, despite this we offer slightly reduced rates if booking a private tour for up to 6 people or 2 people.
Our shared tours are generally more cost-effective with tickets for 2 people ranging from £35-£55 in season with slightly cheaper rates available in the winter months.

Book a Distanced Shared Punting Tour
Morning Punting
The morning is a wonderful time to be on the river, it is quiet, serene, and quite beautiful. It is also the most economical so what’s not to love!
If you book a private or shared chauffeured punting tour that departs before 11.45 am you will secure the best rates available for the day in question. Weekend tours are priced higher, but you will find that our prices are very competitive compared to other local punting companies.
Fun for all the Family
Our Early Bird offer is perfect for families with young children who are often up early and making the most of the day. Our chauffeured tours along the Cambridge College Backs are the ideal family day out and are safe for children of all ages.
Know Before You Go
There is no need to queue and wait. We recommend that you wait on Jesus Green until you receive our SMS departure alert. This will let you know that we are ready to load your boat.
Our tours are booked for specific times, and you should be aware that late arrival may result in you having a shortened tour or missing your tour altogether.
We do recommend that you come prepared bringing food and drink onboard to make the trip that extra bit special.
Families are welcome to leave prams and pushchairs at our check in area. Please note however that this is done at your own risk.
In the event of poor weather, we do still go ahead although we will do our best to reschedule where possible. Should you choose to cancel due to poor weather you will be eligible for a 70% refund. You can find out more information in our Terms & Conditions.
Chauffeured Cambridge Punting Tours
Our punting tours will take you along the ‘College Backs’ passing seven of the most famous riverside colleges. This includes Magdalene, St Johns, Trinity, Clare, Trinity Hall, Kings, and Queens. Our chauffeurs are very experienced and will give you lots of interesting facts as you glide along the beautiful River Cam. Tours are quite magical; they last around 50 minutes and are very relaxing and informative. Take note of our dynamic pricing model shown above, if you book a tour early or late you will pay less but still have the most wonderful time.
