Let’s Go Punting was set up in 2008 to offer locals and tourists the opportunity to enjoy the majesty of the College ‘Backs’ at an affordable price.
Having a young family ourselves it’s important to us that we provide top-quality tours and amazing customer service whilst still remaining affordable. We launched our early bird rate in 2017 and it’s still available today. With our Early Bird rate, we offer our very best rates for the first tours of the day when the river is at its quietest. In our experience, this option is ideal for families with young children.

Meet The Team
The Let’s Go Punting team is made up of experienced Cambridge punting guides, booking specialists, and local tourism staff who help visitors enjoy authentic chauffeured punting tours along the River Cam.
From welcoming guests at the riverside to guiding private and shared punting tours past Cambridge’s famous colleges, our staff combine local knowledge with professional customer service to create memorable experiences for visitors from around the world.
Our chauffeurs are trained in both punting and Cambridge history, allowing guests to enjoy informative and relaxing tours through one of the city’s most iconic attractions. Behind the scenes, our office and operations team help ensure bookings, tour scheduling, and customer support run smoothly throughout the year.

Tom
Tom has been the River Manager here at Let’s Go Punting now for 7 wonderful years. He knows the business from front to back, and despite not being a river tour guide, his catalogue of local Cambridge history is immense. His favourite riverside view is St John’s New Court building, which is home to first-year Cambridge University students. His fondest memories while working with the company include seeing new chauffeurs build their confidence on the river and creating a calm, safe environment for all members of the Let’s Go Punting team.

Pi
Pi has been guiding punting tours in Cambridge for just under a month and specialises in private chauffeured tours along the River Cam. He enjoys sharing stories about Cambridge University colleges, his favourite story being that of ……. He particularly likes the St John’s New Court building, and believes it to be one of the most beautiful sights along the River Cam. Despite working on the river for only a short while, Pi has become a local history expert and has received a plethora of praise from customers on Google reviews.

Tayla
Tayla has been part of our friendly office team for just over a year now. Part of her role is communicating with our friendly customers about booking enquiries, faq’s and local Cambridge recommendations. If you have any questions regarding a tour, please do not hesitate to reach out on 01223 651 659 – our friendly office staff are available 9-5 every day of the week (except for Christmas Day!).
Chauffeured Punting Tours in Cambridge
There is a long tradition of Punting in Cambridge with punts being used as pleasure craft since approximately 1900. At Let’s Go Punting we haven’t been around quite that long but are proud to provide award-winning traditional punting tours of Cambridge.
In Cambridge, Punting is the number one thing to do. So let us take you on our 50-minute private punting tour and show you the best sights that Cambridge has to offer, whilst you sit back, relax, and take in the views.
We offer guided punting tours along the College ‘Backs’ in Cambridge on our newly built fiberglass boats, which were designed and built by Simon. These boat, despite using modern techniques have been based on the traditional wooden wide-beam design. Our boats are licensed for up to 12 passengers who can be comfortably seated on the 4 rows of raised seats.
The College ‘Backs’ in Cambridge is one of the most famous stretches of river in the country – second only to the Thames in London perhaps. It’s also one of the most lucrative with large numbers of chauffeured and self-hire craft being commercially registered on the Cam each year.
We are a small and independent company working from the city council’s Landing Stage on the corner of Jesus Green as part of the city’s independent punting scheme.
