As we look back on Let’s Go Punting’s 2025, we are incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved. From welcoming visitors from all over the world, to supporting meaningful causes and delivering unforgettable experiences on the River Cam, this year has been one of growth, connection, and celebration. Below are some of the most memorable events, milestones, and moments that shaped an exceptional year on the river.
Our Community & Collaborations
We began the year by supporting the incredible charity Mind, placing mental health at the heart of our values. Supporting mental wellbeing remained a key focus throughout the year. We helped raise awareness of the importance of looking after ourselves and one another. Through fundraising efforts, and open conversations within our team, this partnership reflects our belief that positive experiences help build stronger communities.
One of the most heart-warming moments of Let’s Go Punting’s 2025 was Carols on the River. We held the event in support of Little Miracles on 7th December 2025.. Guests enjoyed a magical afternoon gliding along the River Cam, whilst the St John the Evangelist Choir sang beloved Christmas carols. We were delighted to raise £1,370 for Little Miracles. This supported families in Cambridge with children facing additional needs or life-limiting conditions. This moment is a standout highlight in Let’s Go Punting’s 2025 journey.
Giving back always remains an important part of what we do. Over the course of the year, we donated numerous punting vouchers to charity raffles, and community events. These donations supported fundraising efforts across Cambridge and beyond, while also introducing new guests to the experience of punting on the River Cam. We gave to the likes of – Norfolk Accident Rescue Service, Macmillan Cancer Support, Cambridge Acorn Project, Gretton School, and many more.
Throughout 2025, we made and maintained valuable connections with local affiliates across Cambridge. Our partnerships with local business providers allowed us to offer visitors more tailored and memorable experiences. Some of these include The Varisty Hotel, Cambridge Gift shop and Tour Tailors.
Celebrating Excellence
We are incredibly proud that Let’s Go Punting has once again been recognised among the country’s best visitor attractions. In the latest VisitEngland Quality Assured Visitor Attraction assessment, we achieved an outstanding 98% overall score. This marks our second consecutive year receiving the VisitEngland Gold Accolade and improves on last year’s already impressive result.
This recognition reflects the dedication of our entire team. From our chauffeurs on the river to the staff working behind the scenes, as well as the continued support of our customers. As a proud Cambridge-based business with many years of experince, this award reinforces our commitment to delivering exceptional, high-quality punting experiences on the River Cam and inspires us to continue raising the bar.
Memorable Events On The River
Our Punt & Hunt experiences returned across multiple seasons this year, with themed booklets for Easter, Halloween, and Christmas. While each version was tailored to the time of year, the magic remained the same. They transformed a traditional punting tour into an interactive adventure for children. Young guests were encouraged to spot landmarks, solve clues, and explore the River Cam in a fun and engaging way. At the end of each Punt & Hunt, children received a prize, adding an extra layer of excitement and ensuring smiles long after the tour had ended.
Valentine’s Day was once again a romantic highlight on the River Cam. Couples enjoyed a private, chauffeured punting tour along the College Backs, complete with a complimentary red rose for bookings made in advance. The experience offered a peaceful and intimate way to celebrate. Optional add-ons such as Prosecco, Champagne, picnics, and bouquets made the moment even more special.
The May Ball season is always one of the most spectacular times on the river, and 2025 was no exception. Punting during the celebrations allowed guests to enjoy incredible views of fireworks, music, and iconic Cambridge traditions. Experiencing the May Ball fireworks from the River Cam definitely needs to be added to your bucket list! Make sure to purchase your tickets early, as they sell out quickly.
Adding an atmospheric twist to the autumn season, our Halloween Ghost Tours offered guests a chance to experience Cambridge after dark. This year marked the first time we hosted this spooky event. It featured eerie tales, hidden histories, and spine-tingling stories. It brought a mysterious and unforgettable experience to the River Cam.
A major milestone for Let’s Go Punting’s 2025 came on 12th July, which marked our busiest tour day of the year. With the river buzzing with activity and a full schedule of tours, it was a clear reflection of the growing popularity of our experiences and the dedication of our entire team. We managed to host an amazing 100 tours, making it a personal record!
