I think we can all agree it can be hard organizing a group trip. Trying to coordinate a date when everyone free, finding activities that suit everyone’s interests and budget; and finding a location that is accessible to everyone. It takes a lot of work.
So whether you are looking for a weekend trip away with pals or a corporate away day, we have you covered. Below we have listed some of the best things to do as a group in Cambridge.
Group Trip to Cambridge
With Cambridge being only a 50-minute train away from London, it is no doubt why the city is so popular. Cambridge also has direct links by train to Birmingham, Norwich, Peterborough, Ipswich and Leicester. Groups of friends and colleagues visit Cambridge all year round, especially during the months of May to September.
There is plenty in our small city to keep you occupied; for those corporate groups, Meet Cambridge offers up their expertise to help you find the best places for you to hold your meetings.
One of the most famous things to do in Cambridge is punting on the River Cam. Our 50-minute guided punting tours take you on a 2-mile return trip along the College Backs. We offer a variety of different activities for groups. But more on that below.
If a nice bar takes your fancy then we recommend The Hidden Rooms. Located only a 5-minute walk from our landing stage, along Jesus Lane, this cocktail lounge holds events most weekends and even offers private hire. You can check out their different private hire options and packages on their website. We also recommend Novi, a modern bar and kitchen just off Parker’s Piece. Across their three-storey venue, they offer a variety of space for both group bookings and private hire.
If you are coming to Cambridge during the warmer months and want to experience a more tranquil time then we recommend The Orchard Tea Garden. Albeit, they are located slightly outside the city centre, however, it is only a 10-minute drive. This peaceful tea room is located in an Orchard in the small village of Grantchester and has hosted Cambridge residents for over 125 years.
