Picture this: a balmy summer evening, the sun is slowly setting over the beautiful Cambridge landscape, and you are on a punt, a glass of crisp champagne in one hand, and a platter of delicious sushi on your lap. We wouldn’t blame you for thinking that life couldn’t get much better.
Picnic punting in Cambridge
We first launched our picnic punting to great acclaim in 2021, starting with three delicious options; Afternoon Tea; Brunch; and Deli Grazing, all from All on Boards.
We have now teamed up with Kibou to bring a slice of Japan to the River Cam. Who doesn’t want to drift down the college backs on a summers evening with a beautiful platter of fresh sushi? Our team tried the sushi punting package the other day, and we had some very jealous onlookers!
The ‘Sushi in the Park’ platters are designed to be eaten on a punt, coming with chopsticks, Soy Sauce, Ginger, Wasabi, and Sesame dressing. The platter contains five different items, including three different types of Sushi.
All picnics can be added to a private tour (with at least 48 hours in advance), either via the website or by contacting our bookings team on 01223 651659. All our picnic packages caters for dietary requirements, so just let the bookings team know and the appropriate adjustments can be made. If wanting to order the Sushi picnics, they are available on any tours after 12.30pm.
Sushi in the Park
Niji Platter
The perfect box for both vegetarians and vegans. A colourful rainbow of vegetable sushi, the box contains two portions of edamame, two portions of cucumber and goma wakame, one portion of Yasai Moriawase (a vegetarian sushi selection chosen by KIBOU chefs), one portion of hosomaki tsukemono (preserved vegetables), and one portion of hosomaki red pepper.
Minimum order: 2 people.

Natsu Platter
KIBOU’s signature sushi and sashimi Jo Moriawase, along with a selection of salmon, seabream and tuna hosomaki. This is the platter for fish lovers. It contains two portions of edamame, two portions of cucumber and goma wakame, one portion of Jo Moriawase, one portion of hosomaki salmon, one portion of hosomaki bream, and one portion of hosomaki tuna.

Saiko Platter
This luxury platter comes with KIBOU’s showstopping Tokujo Moriawase sushi and sashimi selection, alongside a decadent ‘Surf and Turf’ Nigiri, topped with seared salmon and wagyu beef with truffle mayo. This one really is for the foodies! The platter also comes with two portions of edamame, two portions of cucumber and goma wakame, one portion of Tokujo Moriawase, and one portion of surf and turf nigiri.

All Sushi in the Park platters includes steamed edamame topped with either black lava salt, chilli oil, or garlic oil, sea salt and roasted sesame, and a soy and sesame dressed cucumber and seaweed salad.
