Punting in Cambridge at Christmas

Join us on the river this festive season for some christmas themed fun with the family.

Book a private or shared 50 minute punting tour along the college backs and add our Christmas themed scavenger hunt & activity booklets, priced at just £2.50 per child, to your punting tour.

The activity section of the booklet is designed to be completed on the river including a festive spot the difference and christmassy dot-2-dot. Complete the puzzles and answer the questions along the river to crack the code and claim your prize (A delicious festive sweet treat from Hardy’s Sweet Shop).

The second half of the booklet is is a city centre scavenger hunt with a christmassy twist. Take a walk through Cambridge’s city centre, enjoy the Christmas lights and answer the questions about Santa, Rudolph and Christmas past.

Activity booklets are available as an Add-On once you have selected your punting tour. The option will only appear if you are booking between the 30th of November and 31st of December. Please select the number of booklets you would like to purchase. We recommend booking one booklet per child so they can complete all of the onboard activities and receive their sweet treat.

On the day of your punting tour, your booklets and pens will be waiting for you at the river. Please collect your booklet(s) before boarding the punting tour. Your sweet treat can be collected from Hardy’s Sweet Shop after your tour. (1 treat per booklet – hand in the completed code slip to receive your prize).

The scavenger hunt can be completed before or after your punting tour – the map takes you on a walk through Cambridge’s fairy-light-festooned streets starting at the punting departure point.

Our booklet has been designed for children ages 4-10 (although both older and younger children may enjoy joining in). The punting activities have been specifically designed to appeal to younger children and the city centre scavenger hunt is aimed at the older end of the age bracket.

Know Before You Go

Tours are booked for a specific time. Late arrival will result in a missed or shortened tour. You will receive a text message 5 minutes before you departure time – please wait at our meeting point by the tennis courts when you receive this meeage. You are welcome to bring food and drinks on board. Once confirmed, bookings can be amended, subject to availability. Tours go ahead in all weather. Cambridge Punting

Our punting tours of Cambridge are popular with families. We offer discounted family tickets on our shared tours and offer our best rates before midday. All tours last approxiamtely 45-50 minutes.

When booking a shared tour choose from a group of up to 2, 3, 6 or 9 passengers – ensuring that your group will not share a row with other groups (you may we seated opposite other groups depending on numbers).

Alterntively book a private tour for up to 6 or 12 people and enjoy the entire boat for your group.
