Cambridge Junction

If you’re searching for some ideas on how to spend your summer evenings then stop. No need to look any further. Whether you’re looking for fun for all of your family, a plan for an evening with friends, or even a date night with your partner the Cambridge Junction has it all.

In the world of comedy, Cambridge Junction has a large variety of comedians lined up. On the 6th of August, Jess Fostekew is performing her Best show nomination, Hench. Fostekew is a comedian, actor, and writer, most famously known for her work in BBC sitcom Motherland and the BAFTA Award-winning drama Three Girls. In her routine Fostekew will explore the new world of exercise and weightlifting she entered into when she was attempting to combat her stage fright.

Alternatively, if you prefer a little more freedom to your comedy, then on the same night at 8 pm there is a night of improv to keep you entertained. The Noise Next Door’s Comedy Lock-In is an improv group that has been on BBC1 and ITV1. As every show is improvised every show is unique and a once in a lifetime opportunity. The comedians aim to produce a witty show full of action and ludicrous comedy, with guest comedians Eshaan Akbar and Alaister Beckett-King. A group of comedians all bouncing off of each other are bound to make you laugh so much your stomach hurts so book your tickets now!

What’s On…

If comedy isn’t really your thing then maybe magic might be? On Saturday 14th August Pete Firman will be coming to the Cambridge Junction to bring a little bit of magic into your lives. Perfect for all the family Firmans show, Bag Of Tricks, aims to bring a work of wonderment and mystery into the world. Firman has previously performed at The London Palladium, on The Next Great Magician, and The John Bishop Show and has been described as a “Joy to watch” by the Edinburgh Festivals Magazine.

If your passion is music then the Cambridge junction has a large variety awaiting you. If you wish to support a young, rising star then Olivia Dean is someone you should go and see. She decided that despite numerous lockdowns and Covid-19 restrictions that music was a must to keep people’s spirits up. So on Sunday the 8th of August she hopes to bring a happiness to your lives that music has brought to her own. I can highly recommend coming out and supporting a young new artist, as it is the support that allows success to be nurtured and will inspire her to keep spreading magic with her music.

If the Blues tend to take your fancy then Smoove & Turrel may be the group for you. Their soul music, infused with the groups northern soul, funk style and influenced by pop, rock, jazz and disco promises and electric set. The Stratos Bleu tour that is arriving to the Cambridge Junction on the 20th of August, presents their new album, with a nod to the early days of their careers that have allowed them to make it in the music industry.
