What is Christmas without our favourite Christmas traditions? And this year we were delighted to be able to host our annual festive event – Christmas Carols on the River!

Last year we were unable to have our Christmas carolling on the river due to Covid-19. But this year we were rejoined by the choir from St Johns the Evangelist Church.

We punted the choir up and down the river singing Christmas Carols surrounded by punts full of happy customers enjoying the festive tunes and beautiful ‘College Backs’ whilst snacking on festive treats and mulled wine.

And whilst we have already had our Christmas carols on the river this year you can always contact us to enquire about carolling for next year to get on the waiting list! We do recommend doing this when you begin your Christmas planning as it is very popular and we only have limited seats.

Carolling for Charity

Our Christmas Carols on the river is also a charity event, where 100% of the proceeds go to the charity that we have partnered with that year.

This is something we believe strongly in, as Christmas is the time for giving, and what better way to give back than supporting our local community and young children.

This year we partnered up with Blue Smile and, with our customers’ help, we managed to raise £770 in total!

A massive thanks to St Johns the Evangelist Church Choir for joining us once again for this magical event and for truly making it a success!

Blue Smile

Blue Smile is an organisation that helps to support young and vulnerable children with their mental health. They provide therapy for the children, mainly focusing on art therapy as it is easier for children to express themselves creatively.

Blue Smile also doesn’t just focus on providing support for children alone. They also focus on helping to support parents, carers, and teachers to provide a stable and safe environment for the children in their care, and themselves.

If you wish to find out more about Blue Smile then head on over to their website to learn about their aims and mission.

If you are able, you can also head over to their donations page and contribute to their cause. Every donation allows Blue Smile to continue to support our local children and community and they will be grateful for anything you can afford to give.

We hope you have a Happy Christmas and we hope to see you in the New Year!
