Let’s Go Punting – 2018 A Reflection

It’s truly unbeleivable how quickly years are passing by. With 2019 is just around the corner, we’re feeling nostalgic – again – and are looking back at the fabulous memories of 2018. In this blog post, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone; thank you to all our amazing staff, customers and suppliers this year. 2018 has been a great year for us…

January 2018 – Fresh year, fresh start, smiley faces.

Spring 2018 – Well, the weather didn’t look too promising first; we had a wet and awful Easter.

Luckily, by the end of April, warm sunshine brightened our beautiful town.

Hen party season – our favourite time of the year – finally started!

With the warm weather upon us could start organising picnics again on Jesus Green. Thank you for The Cambridge Cheese Company, Fitzbillies, Que Rico Tapas and Food 4 Food for constantly providing delicious picnics. We are proud to work with local independent suppliers for our picnics, especially Food 4 Food, a social enterprise by Winter Comfort for the Homeless.

May 2018 – Our favourite spring memory: Arsene Wenger was punting with us.

… and of course, we welcomed other special guests on board too.

June 2018 – The weather started to get kinda’ crazy… and people did so.

We launched the Let’s Go App, Cambridge’s one and only Punting App.

July 2018 – Who can forget the heatwave in Europe? This was that time of the year when the grass and King’s College Chapel had the same colour.

Oh, those hot days… those long, busy days with half-naked people jumping out of the boats – absolutely normal in July.

August 2018 –  We organised the first Musical Punting Event in a while – Music on the River.

Summer 2018 has been an amazing summer for us, so we decided to celebrate it in the local bars and restaurants with our hard-working staff. Thanks to The Punt Yard and to Cafe Foy for the fabulous food and drinks provided for us!

Finally we could relax a little bit…

… and could play a little bit too!

September 2018 – Autumn was kind to us; the start of September was followed by warm days until the end of the month.

October 2018 – It was time to get ready for the colder period of the year, so our staff got their brand new uniform – they looked happy.

November 2018 – Cold days have arrived, but they didn’t stop people punting

December 2018 – Getting ready for Christmas… we organised our Christmas staff do, at The North Pole, which was so much fun!

We were excited to Partner with Traditional Punting Company – amazing years together to come!

Finally, on the 15th December, we organised Christmas Carols on the River, where we raised a fantastic amount of £572 for Christian Aid with the cooperation of the choir of St John The Evangelist Church.

2018 has been such a lovely year for us. Once again, thank you to our staff, costumers, suppliers and supporters.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Let’s Go Punting!

Here’s to 2019…
