Autumn has officially begun on Monday, the 23rd September, which gave us a good reason to organise our next seasonal Staff Do.
In fact, we had other reasons to celebrate; first of all, we’ve just left summer behind and had to say goodbye properly to the warm, sunny days on the River. Next, we wanted to say a huge thank you to all of our Touts, Cashiers, Tour Guides and Office Staff, who’ve been working hard and done incredibly well during the busiest time of the year. Finally, we wanted to make sure that we give an opportunity for our staff to play their favourite game ever: ‘the cardboard game’.
We chose to go to Café Foy this time; one of the loveliest cafes in Cambridge. Foy is an independent café bar created by Cambridge born and bred siblings, both with a love for good food, drink and chat by the River Cam. They served us their delicious Spaghetti and the finest drink, and even provided the entertainment!
As you may know, we are big game-fans. There can’t be an LGP staff party held without cool stuff going on such as a good Tug of War, Funny Iceskating, The Cup Game or any other ways of competing.
This time, the guys at Foy organised a Quiz for us as well as a little ‘Ping Pong Competition’, which our team definitely enjoyed. In addition, each team had to come up with their own Play-Doh creations of Tom the Manager, which made everybody laugh… and of course, as the evening went on with more and more drinks consumed, the cardboard game FINALLY got started.
We would like to say a huge thank you for everyone who came and to the lovely people at Café Foy making our evening wonderful. Best team ever!
